Victoria Bakery & Café ("we," "us") is a family-owned bakery at 292 Bon Air Center, Greenbrae, CA. This policy explains what information we collect through victoriabakerymarin.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
When you use our cake order, holiday order or contact forms, we collect what you enter: your name, email address, phone number, pickup date and time, your order details (cake, size, flavor and similar choices), any notes or message you write, and how you heard about us.
We use this information only to respond to you and to prepare and confirm your order. Each submission is emailed to our staff, and a confirmation is emailed to you. We keep a record of submissions on our web server so we can look up orders.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours uses cookies and similar technologies to understand how visitors use the site and how well our advertising works:
- Google Analytics records pages visited, how you arrived at the site (for example, a search or an ad), your general location (city level), device and browser type, and whether you submitted a form.
- Google Ads uses that information to tell us whether an ad led to an order request.
- Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) records page visits and form submissions so we can measure and improve our ads on those platforms. When you submit a form, we also send Meta a scrambled (hashed) version of your email address and phone number, along with your IP address and browser type, so it can match the visit to an ad. Meta does not receive the contents of your order or message.
Our web server also keeps standard logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site and our business:
- DreamHost and Bunny.net, which host and deliver the website
- Brevo, which sends our order and confirmation emails
- Google (Analytics and Ads) and Meta, as described above
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Our internal reporting tools
We use read-only tools, authorized through Google sign-in, to view reports from our own Google Ads and Google Analytics accounts. These tools access only our business's advertising and website data. They do not access data from anyone else's Google account, and the data is used only for our internal reporting. It is not shared, sold or used for any other purpose. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on, and manage Google ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
- You can manage how Meta uses information for ads in your Facebook ad preferences.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete the information you submitted through our forms by emailing info@victoriabakerymarin.com.
How long we keep information
We keep order and contact submissions for as long as we need them to fill your order and keep normal business records, and then delete them. Analytics data is kept according to Google's and Meta's retention settings.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and form records are stored outside the public part of our web server. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Children
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date above.
